Who may petition
- Voting lay delegates and canonically resident clergy may petition to add candidates not part of the Search Committee's original application process.
- Diocesan staff, Standing, Transition or Search Committee members may not be nominators.

After the close
- Standing Committee reviews materials, runs background checks, schedules interviews, checks references, using the same criteria as the Search Committee.
- It makes the final decision on inclusion on the slate; petition nominees (if any) announced after due diligence, possibly several weeks.
- Per Canon 41, Section 8, no floor nominations at the Special Convention.
