The Deacon Formation program in our Diocese meets monthly, on Friday evenings and Saturdays at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Lubbock. Formation is led by The Rev. James Liggett, rector of St. Nicholas’ Episcopal Church in Midland, and The Rev. Melissa Wafer-Cross, deacon at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Lubbock.  The formation process is a four year process, three of which are spent in study and preparation before ordination, and with the fourth year’s participation immediately following ordination. Additionally, part of this process is the required four year course, Education for Ministry, through the University of the South at Sewanee, which may be taken concurrently with the Deacon Formation program.
